«When the song came out, I felt that it needed a popular or Mexican version, or with tubas, and in the middle of the year I contacted Carín to propose the project. He loved the idea, and the emotion was tremendous when I heard what the song had become, so much so that we decided it was the song to close the year,» Rivera says.
This approach to a sister genre of several musics in Colombia, had already been explored by Rivera with the song ‘Alguien Me Gusta’ in the company of his father, Jhonny Rivera and singer Jessi Uribe, and in Andy’s words it is no longer a risk because Mexico and Colombia have many aspects in common and he wants to make clear his capacity and versatility for sound exploration.
