— Star of Selena The Series hosts fundraiser for San Antonio Nonprofit Organization —

Madonna Center, Inc. is hosting their annual gala on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at 7 p.m. CDT. Actor Ricardo Chavira is serving as the master of ceremonies for the gala which is titled “Dreaming.” The gala will be a hybrid event offering attendees the opportunity to join either in-person and on-line. The in-person event will take place at the Madonna Center on San Antonio’s Westside while virtual attendees will watch a live stream of the show. An online auction will also be available.

This annual event is the largest fundraiser for Madonna Center, Inc. Funds raised at the Dreaming Gala will go towards the Madonna Center’s programs designed to improve families’ lives on the Westside of San Antonio. Programs include early childhood education, after-school care, summer camps, senior services and family services. The Madonna Center recently announced the addition of a new infant and toddler building to serve more families.

Ricardo Chavira most recently played Abraham Quintanilla on the Netflix hit program Selena the Series. Chavira grew up in San Antonio and still calls the Alamo City home. He is a long-time supporter of the Madonna Center and is partnering as the host of the gala this year. Ricardo stated, “We want to bring attention to an organization that doesn’t get the attention or recognition it deserves for the difference it makes in the lives of so many.” In addition to hosting, Chavira is donating a special “Virtual Experience with Cast Members from Selena the Series” which will be up for bid during the event’s silent auction. Virtual attendees will be able to bid on the virtual experience as well.

Dreaming Gala attendees can expect live entertainment, a signature drink demonstration and a silent auction. Doors open at 6 p.m. CDT and the program begins at 7 p.m. CDT. Virtual tickets are on sale for $75 and can be purchased at https://tinyurl.com/Madonna2021
